Claude Cowork is more like the colleague who has a permanent desk on your team — they are there for the ongoing project, remember the context of past decisions, and interact with several teammates over the weeks. Same brain, very different social contract: one-shot expertise on the left, long-term collaboration on the right. The tell that you need Cowork is not the topic, it is the shape of the work: does it stretch across sessions and people, or does it end when the diff is merged?
