A fault model at NorthPeak can only use what is known on the morning of each day. Leakage is any information from the test rows or from the future that reaches the model during training, and it often leaves the score untouched or makes it look excellent. A scikit-learn Pipeline fitted on the train rows blocks the most common form by construction. This lesson names the three forms of leakage, shows a silent one on the NorthPeak feature table, and lists the habits that make a result reproducible.
