Week 10 — Lesson 1: Ollama from Python: chat, options, temperature 0

2 min

Week 1 introduced ollama.chat with one question typed by hand. From this week on, the same call runs on NorthPeak data: incident notes, machine descriptions, manual chunks. The details of the call now matter: the options dictionary, the counters in the response, and why temperature stays at 0. This lesson reads one call and its response line by line, then looks at the two models installed on your laptop.

The call and its response

You know the call from Week 1. A model name, a list of messages, an options dictionary.
