Week 8 — Lesson 5: Context windows and hallucinations

3 min

Every call to llama3.2 has a limit on the tokens it can read at once. The six NorthPeak manuals in docs/manuals/ fit inside that limit, at 3,158 tokens. A thousand pages would not. When the facts a question needs are not inside the window, the model predicts a likely answer instead of a true one. This lesson gives the numbers of the context window, the recipe of a hallucination, and the rule that stops it.
