An agent loop can run forever, and each round costs seconds and tokens. At NorthPeak some actions also touch sensitive data: the incidents table holds technician names and free text. A safe agent therefore has a hard limit on its loops and a pause where a human says yes before anything sensitive runs. This lesson covers the counter that bounds the retries, the interrupt() call that pauses the graph, and a table that says when a chain, a plain loop or LangGraph is the right choice.
