Features and Labels

Features are the clues the computer looks at. The label is the answer it tries to guess.

Imagine it like this: You're playing "Guess Who?" to guess an animal. "Does it have fur? Does it bark? Is it big?" Those clues are the features. Your final answer — "It's a dog!" — is the label.

Examples:

• Features: bedrooms, size, neighborhood → Label: house price
• Features: photo pixels → Label: "cat" or "dog"
• Features: email words → Label: "spam" or "not spam"

So? Good clues are like good clues in an investigation — the better they are, the easier it is for the computer (or you!) to find the right answer.
